Had a great cruise down the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, plenty of sunshine, light winds and awesome scenery. All the little bays, then the back drop of the Hartz mountains as we came south. The peaks were sticking out above the light clouds. Lots of French history down here, the first mob arrived with all sorts of scientists, historians and philosophers. Think the locals sorted them out, then came the English and stuffed most things. Looks like there is a little of paradise left.

In the National Park here there is a life-size statue of a 3 month old right whale as a monument to what was here. (Made by Ian’s cousin – everyone is related here). Sad to think they called it the ‘right whale’ cause when they killed it, it stayed the right way up.

Few huts and a camp ground and then end of the road is here. Then the south west walking track starts here. We collected a couple of handfuls of cockle shells in Cockle Creek to add to the seafood chowder for dinner and I caught a few cod which will bait the cray pots tomorrow at Louisa Bay, where we plan to stop if the weather remains good.
