Weather was rough on Sunday so we had a quiet morning, then the sun came out and we went ashore and walked to the bottom end of Maria Island. Found the remains of a farm owned by a stroppy South African between 1952 and 1964. Hands up who knows a stroppy South African? Very funny reading the history where the only other farmer for miles said this guy Robey couldn’t get on with anybody on the island. They were tough, as Mrs lived to 82 and he lived to 94.

We started early this morning bound for Dunalley Canal. A few excitements through the narrows but all good, we dropped Caro off in Dunalley to take Debbie & Haydn’s van around to Kettering. The fire damage was awful, quite a few houses gone and fire all around the town.

Arrived at Bruny Island just in time for the engine fresh water pump to explode. Great mysteries, I had a spare. Thankfully Haydn was here and we  have got ourselves going again, not perfectly, but going, so tomorrow is hunting for spares.
