Today was a work day (bad weather) and Haydn and I got stuck into the heat gun and burnt off the very last mouldy paint on the deckhead. Now we can say that the topsides have all been taken back to bare wood.

Cold front came through around midday, bit of rain but not enough for the poor buggers of Tasmania; very, very dry here.

Tomorrow we head for Maria Island and check that out. Met some locals today, great characters: Stan the harbor master is 83 and going strong, had really good yarns. Local crayfish skipper talked for ages on life and fishing, he was the local copper on Flinders Island for 15 years, driving a 1934-built boat round all the 40 or so islands in the group.
