Having been stuck in a hole with little or no wind
for the last two days, we are flying today with constant winds, and for a
change in the right direction! It is almost dusk here with the sun setting on
the horizon. We picked up a bit of chatter from other boats on the radio today
suggesting the Great Circle Route
up north is proving very fast but we have very little data on what is going on
around us. We have just picked up details from ARC Control of a serious medical
problem 400 miles south west of us. One of the crew of AAG Big One was badly
burned during a broach. They are currently trying to source a vessel to do a
lift off.
I know there is a few Sweepstakes going on our ETA. For
those of you thinking we were up for a fast crossing, think again. The lack of
wind of the last few days will cost us dear while our damaged spinni pole will
limit our sail options later. That said, for the gamblers among you, we are
taking a very direct route……
