Well we are here........... AT LAST!  Jolly Harbour, Antigua.  The journey round the island to the harbour was amazing, just like all the photo's, the sea is the most amazing turquoise blue, the sandy beaches are white stunning.  The wind was blowing beautifully and the current was really pushing us about.  We had to concentrate really hard and all we wanted to do was take in the magnificence of it all,  plus we were soooo..tired.
We arrived on the customs and immigration pontoon at 9.30 am local time 1.30 pm UK time.  Straight away other yachties were talking to us and then amazingly we met Mike a guy we'd met while we were in Gomera, the Canaries,  last year and he was just going to visit our good neighbours from Almerimar 2 winters ago, Arnd and Bente and their two children, who are anchored in a bay just around the corner, so hopefully we'll get to see them soon.
We eventually got to our mooring which John from Amazing Grace had so kindly booked for us, we'd met John and Julie in Gibraltar before they set off on their Atlantic adventure, they only took 2 weeks to cross,  I think next time I do the crossing it will  be in a suped up Catamaran!!
We went out for lunch and celebrated with a rum punch, delicious, but it was getting increasingly more difficult to stay awake!  We managed to stay awake until it got dark 6.30 pm I think, and just crashed out until I felt the lovely cooling spray on my face, I thought I was dreaming but eventually came to, soaked, it was pouring with rain.  They'd had no rain here for 6 weeks and so it was very welcome, however.......
It seems alot of the other marina's around have no water and carry fines if you use it to wash the boat.  Here they have their own de-salinating plant.  So we really are well blessed we came here.
Took a walk to the supermarket this morning and was greeted several times before I got there, people are happy!  It truly is an amazing place.
