Left Charly at 08.00 hrs and made our way up the Marne to Epernay arriving
at 16.00hrs. An enjoyable day meandering through the Champagne country.
We all went from incompetent crew to competent crew,Nick has 5 stars as
he contacted the lock keeper when we were trapped in an automatic lock,
in his impeccable French( franglaise) in true allo allo style.We thought
we were arriving in a 5star marina tonight , having not showered for the
last 3 nights. Well no such luck , the showers are cold , the washing
machine out of order, and the main line to Paris runs right by the boat,
and no fuel!!!!!
Oh well just had our last bangers from the UK, with mash and onions,
couple of glasses of chateau cardboard and we will sleep tonight.No
floaters to report today apart from the ones that left the boat.
Canals tomorrow bikes out, sunshine ordered!!
