Set off for the longest leg of our trip with 200 n miles from Sardinia to
Menorca. No havens on the way ,just open sea!We got the weather right with
a benign sea and light winds. We set off at five am hoping to get there in
daylight.30 n miles into the trip the engine cut! Only one engine and no
flappy white things! Same problem as before -Injector no 4
malfunctioning. How can that be? We have just spent four days getting and
fitting a new no 4 injector at great expense. It has to be an electrical
fault. No point in going back so decided to push on. The diagnostic system
allows us to continue at maximum revs of 2000 which chugs us along at 7
knots.well we made it and we got into Mahon at 6 am 25 hours after
leaving! Who needs sleep! The only good thing is that at higher speeds we
would have been at the limit of our fuel range and we actually got to the
fuel quay with 100 litres to spare!
