We left Baja early this morning heading for Serbia. We passed the
Hungarian Customs believing that we were in the European Union and so were
Hungary.Wrong! We were stopped by the police and told to turn back.A
detour of 15 km up river to the Customs in Mohacs where we received a
fixed penalty of 150 Euros and then cleared out of Hungary and back 15 km
to where we were stopped!!We continued to Bezham where we tied alongside a
huge fuel barge and went ashore to clear into Serbia. By now it was 1600
hrs and we just had enough time to get to Apatin where there is a good
marina.Showers,toilets, water,electricity and a fuel quay. Found a good
restaurant.We went 108 km but only 78 in the right direction!
