Bad start this am after brilliant sunshine yesterday. It was pouring with
rain.To top it all we were given the wrong key for the showers! We left
with 4knot s of current against. We managed 3locks and practise makes
perfect the trouble is each one is different, some higher than
others.Great discussion takes place, as to what length of warps (ropes) to
you non sailors we need . Dave normally is right! The rules of the of the
rivers have to be followed, we have navionics and chart books,of the
rivers and canels. Much time is spent looking for glasses scattered around
the boat we are all blind as bats thats the age thing.STill we are all
quite able, and nimble when climbing up the lock ladders.
Motoring along the river you see an awful lot we have passed some
beautiful houses on the Seine, but arriving nearer to Paris the river
becomes more industrialised. We were amazed at the many house boats
in various states of repair. Many immigrants living in make shift
homes, under the arches of the bridges and roads(some with 3 piece
suites!!
WE passed the EIfel tower , and under at least 5 bridges . We are now in
a Marina called Port De Plaisance de ARsenal, just near NOtre DAm. IT has
berthing for 65 boats, you go through the lock to access the marina. WE
will. Be here for 2 nights .IT is quite warm SUmmer is on the way .
