We headed out of Honfleur at 8.30 am on what we thought was a rising tide
which would take us all the way to Rouen . The Seine is tidal until
Rouen, unfortunately we had been working on universal time. When we realised
we were already on our way, Dave as skipper for the day given plenty of
banter!
We are not on a sailing boat and Greylag is quite thirsty!due to this
we used too much much fuel. We arrived in Rouen with not a fuel
station to be found, much debating about wether we stopped , and
looked for a garage. Which means carrying the fuel, which for the over
sixties is not easy! We pushed on another hour , and we are now in St
Aubin Les Elbeuf
Which has a leisure craft centre , but no fuel again. We are moored up a
little inlet , where has fate will have we have have met an English man
who has a car and will take us with Gerry cans to the garage for fuel.
Really friendly people , played cards last night early to bed after nearly
coming to blows with competitive Nick.Once we are fuelled up we will be
off. It does seem fuel could be a problem while in France, we will see.
