We left Lymington at 11.00 on Thursday 09th April.we had a short weather
window to get across the channel to Le Havre and made it across before the
weather broke. We berthed In the Port du Plaisance in Le Havre at
20.00hrs and the heavens opened. We were met by Sabine an old friend of
Dave's! And she made us very welcome. The crossing was near perfect and
the new boat performed well!
Dinner was not what we would have expected for French cooking but I don't
think it is what it used to be. We checked in to the Port and retired for
a well earned rest.
We went for the three s's,into town for some shopping, bought a French SIM
card for my I Pad,filled up with fuel and set off to motor round to the
entrance of the Seine through the 3 o clock lock to Honfleur and berthed
there for the night. The trip to Honfleur was really rough and just glad we
crossed the channel when we did!!
Julie's extra note the real story!
We are all back together again 2 men and 1 girl in a boat, this is
slightly different to last year bit smaller , one head which as we girls
know is not good with men! It is really strange being in a motor boat, the
boys are having to adjust to not putting on the auto-helm , this takes a
bit more concentration. We all slept well last night, under the rather
heavy large duvets that Nick purchased from mataland! Oh we'll he is on
his uppers only has 2 boats. Last night the chorus of snoring did keep me
awake but a few more drinks at night will solve that one. I do answer to
anything but GLoria seems a to be my name !!! Uncle DAve is not feeling
too good , we have told him
We don't want him curling his toes just yet, but we will just slip over
the side , that ok Wendy?
Well we are off to look around Honfleur the sun has its hat on.
