Canal lateral de la Marne.
Left Epernay at 08.30 and motored down river to Dizy and entered the Canal
lateral de la Marne.We motored 55 kilometres to Ablancourt. Just got
through the lock no 5 before the locks shut for the night. So we have
about 7 kilometres to go to Vitry. Moored up on the canal bank for the
night. Just found out that the Canal de la Marne au Rhin has been closed
for the month of April and does not open until the 29th April.so tomorrow
we motor to Vitry and park up for a week!!
Over to Julie ,well here we are parked on a lovely bank birds
singing, night closing in, and not very warm in fact we are all in
our fleeces this morning in Epernay it was 7 degrees really cold.
Perhaps the fact we are going east is the problem, wish it would
warm up ! We are all a bit disappointed we are not moving on, but
that is boats!
Our locks are getting better , we are all working as a smooth team,
apart from the old bit of language, we never know which side we
have to tie up , so fenders are back and forth. We are eating a on
board , the only thing that is cheap in France is wine and bread !
We should be eating a lot of that this week !
