Hi to all friends and family of Great
Escape
Today is Friday and once again we were entertained
last night by David and Tony at an excellent restaurant - really, David
isn't like his picture......honestly. Clearly there was good food and wine but
more than that, David and Tony invited their good friends, Chris and Yvonne.
Chris was clearly one of those 'salty sea dogs' who, with David and Tony,
shared a whole new vision of sailing that was riddled with anecdotes and
stories. The theme and language associated with this 'rapid fire' conversation
was off the wall and sometimes politically incorrect but they had a general
nautical theme and made trips across the channel and along the South Coast
sound like chicken feed - and render watching comedy on TV as a complete waste
of time. A great time was had by all. During this 'rapid fire' humour it was
decided that on Saturday the two crews, GE and Kotari (all Russian) would
get together in an east meets west bash - plenty of wodka will flow
that evening, comrades.
Today Lizzie and Sally were around the pool; Pascal
and David were sorting food and provisions; Tony was cropped to reduce wind
resistance; Ian and Jackie decided to increase the GDP of the Canaries by buying
everything; Martyn and I travelled across town to an awesome fishing tackle shop
to get some more fishing gear.
A good day was had by all - Pascal and Martyn are
shown pushing back the frontiers of .................. absolutely
nothing!!!
