Had a good meal out in the Old Town last night, but the
taxi driver was rather odd – Dave was getting quite irate because he couldn’t
understand where to take us in spite of excellent pigeon Spanish and showing him
on a map several times. In the end he stopped the car and I offered him a pair
of glasses, which he gratefully borrowed, looked at the map again, and all was
ok!! Has anyone else had a blind taxi driver??
It’s Tuesday already and the job list is definitely
getting smaller, but new items still keep getting added – three steps forward
and two backwards!
Had the diver down today to fix the
bow thrusters which went reasonably well, although one of the props instantly
came off when tested! Fortunately the other one located ok, and now we are fully
operational.
One of the jobs this afternoon is to
put up the trysail and storm jib before we store them – hopefully we will not
see them again on this trip! In a similar vein (or should it be vane or vain??)
we are full topped up with diesel now, but hopefully we won’t need a
drop!!
We are both looking forward to crew
arriving tomorrow. Hope they are prepared for the fancy dress in the
evening!!
