Today has been a
fairly quiet day as we got on with sailing the boat and all of the normal daily
jobs. A decision not to fish was taken this morning as the prospect of bangers
and mash with a rich onion gravy was too much to pass by! Andrew did not
disappoint, and a superb supper was greatly enjoyed by all.
The problem with
catching the fish here, is that they really are quite large and it is impossible
to store much for more than a day - you can't throw them back so it is only fair
to fish when you want them to eat.
Martyn therefore had
a day off his fishing and turned his hand to re-modelling the equipment.
"There's more to this lure making lark than meets the eye" he was heard to say
as he proudly showed off his new creation that was lovingly fashioned from an
Ariel detergent bottle wrapped in a shredded rubber glove and held together with
bodger tape!!
It was given a trial,
but fortunately proved quite ineffective - a fish large enough to swallow the
lure would have caused us some problems!
We continue to sail
along alone - haven't seen a yacht for days now, and would believe that we were
totally alone if it wasn't for the radio contacts.
Daily runs continue
to b good, and the forecast is for the trade winds to stay with us until at
least the end of the week - could be a quick trip!
All is well aboard
Great Escape - love to those at home
