Title: A domestic day on board !!

22:48.000N 20:37.000W

0100 It is the middle of the night, and we are now flying along at about 8 or 9 knots - actually in the right direction!! This might sound pretty mundane to those of you who do not go to sea, but those who do will realise the buzz that we are getting. Still a long way to go (about 2400 miles), but at least we've turned the corner and are heading for St Lucia. Can't quite smell the rum punch yet, but it's getting closer!
One of the watches (identities to remain secret) found the lure of the fruit cake too much, and sneaked extra rations in the night - can't tell you who because I was bribed with my portion!!

1100 A good night's sailing, with all watches getting some exhilarating conditions at times. It has now calmed down to a 10/15 knot breeze and we are stooging along at about 6 knots in beautiful sunshine, with blue skies and typical trade wind fluffy white clouds.

Most of the crew are taking the opportunity of catching up with their domestic tasks, and the boat looks a little like a chinese laundry.
Other tasks for today include the unblocking of the forward starboard heads - I was asked not to reveal the identity of the culprit, so I probably shouldn't mention that it could be the cabin occupied by the brothers!!!!!!!!! It's a long way to St Lucia if it can't be fixed!!

Final big event of the day so far - we have passed 20 degrees W so ships clock goes back 1 hour at lunch time.

Special thanks must go to Phil Munday (the Boss) for a well prepared boat and for keeping a watchful eye on our progress, or sometimes lack thereof!

All is well aboard Great Escape - a long way to go but progress is good. Love to all of our families who are tracking our progress.

PS Heads now unblocked - shame I couldn't have recorded the skipper's instruction for usage as it was very much in the vernacular and described the whole process in some considerable detail!!!
