We arrived in this little cove between Rocky Dundas and Fowl Cay late in the evening, dropped the hook and had a sundowner as she set......."yes"......"she is in quite good, a bit on ze side, but ze point, and the thing on ze round on the side are under ze san"....was the answer we received from the French Canandia who was out in his dingy with a look-see bucket....(pickle bucket with a glass bottom).....he was checking on his anchor....."my wife, she told me.....you ave tree kids on bort, and zat shain in ze locker ...iss free.....you put it all ouuu...." we were a bit concerned about his range since we were so close with quite a current, so we were grateful for his look-see bucket.......another part of his story contained reports of a reef shark who was very interested in the red snapper he had speared .....in this little cut-cove....(local knowledge....transient local or not.....i was listening to this local knowledge).......the anchorS held....no collisions and we were off fairly early for the mile or so trip across the main channel to Compass Cay. Anchored off shore in about eight feet of turquoise water we left Ananda for a walk about to Rachel's Bubble Bath.....a spot some new friends Dave and Linda on Sandpiper had mentioned when we had cocktails with them and Richard and Diane of Ava Ryan, back in Wadderick Wells.......It was a short walk following the hand painted driftwood signs...... a chit chat and preview of islands to come with some other folks we met returning from the "bath" who also had an island packet, they had seen us anchoring Ananda......and we arrived at the site.....whilst it was truly another beautiful scene, we didn't get to experience the bubble bath effect that is created as waves from the Atlantic driven by winds and swells from the east crash through a small v shaped gap between two peaks of craggy volcanic hills and into a crescent shaped pool....I am sure it is an incredible sight and a testimony to the unbridled force and beauty of nature.....lovely walk back.....a little picnic lunch and beach time under a newly constructed shade area on the shore......then it was off to find a safe spot in Pipe Creek for the evening.........
