A short hop north to meet up with our friends from Valencia – Steve & Melissa Chafer.  We were very happy to move on from Levkas, our first experience of a really noisy town quay in Greece.  We’ve had music before, but it always stopped at a civilised hour; Levkas townies felt no such limitations, plus we were parked too close to the busy main road from the mainland to Levkas “island”.  We managed some morning exercise before heading off – L to swim in turquoise waters off the nearby beach & D for a 5 mile run, started just too late to beat the morning sun’s heat.  We had to wait a short while for the swing bridge to open to let us out into the north Ionian – a little fun was had jockeying around in side winds across a very narrow channel with several boats doing the same.  We managed an hour or so’s sailing en-route to Preveza, but decided the town quay wasn’t too prepossessing, so anchored just north in yet another Vathi (“deep bay” this time).  The Chafers joined us the following day for yet another great evening – maybe too much wine, but someone’s got to drink it.
