We’re exploring the area in short hops to see where we can bring the family over the next few weeks, so we probably won’t post each stop for a while.  This anchorage is worth mentioning though as it is the site of caves occupied in the Mesolithic era and where the oldest human skeleton was found in Greece.  Archaeologists have left open the shafts they dug to explore the history, so you can look down at least 10m through layers of mud & stones taking you 10,000 years (or so) into the past.  The cave is now an arch piercing the hillside, but it looks like the far opening is “new”, since early man inhabited the place anyway.

We also saw another turtle in this bay.  We didn’t expect to see as many turtles as we have in the Med so far.  It has been a pleasant surprise!  Our arrival in this bay marked exactly one year in the Med for us which would have been a good excuse for a glass of fizz if you could buy an inexpensive one anywhere in Greece.
