Hello Family & Friends,   The dreaded Bay of Biscay was not so scary after all.   The wind was a bit disappointing (especially as we had no cruising chute) until Tuesday when we had a very exhilarating sail and made up some miles.   The nights were a bit cool until the last night when we had  no wind and it was a motor boat finish with a beautiful approach in the dark to the marina.   We were 5th over the finish line but then there are handicaps and miles motored etc to take into account - but we weren't racing!   (Really!?)

The crew were excellent and took sun sights and fished and were very busy trying to adjust sails and sometimes we had three sails flying...   (Slutter rig?)    The food worked really well with the pressure cooker producing a good standard of boat food -though keeping it on the plate was sometimes an issue!   We saw dolphins and a dead whale and had a swallow land
on board and stay for a while, then another one landed in a poor way and had to have a burial at sea.

So we are now in sunny Bayona with the flags flying and lots of exploring to do. Looking forward to next week when the girls join us.
