Having said goodby to Bill, Catherine and James we had a few hours to get the yacht sorted for our final visitor of the year, our good friend and previous neighbour Kay.
Kay was expecting to get a taxi from the airport but instead was met by a friend of ours called Ron bearing a big card with 'Gilly B' on it and with Graham standing behind him.   It was dark but a lovely temperature and we soon had Kay settled on the yacht with a glass of wine (she had travelled really 'light' with just her small "hand luggage" sailing bag!) .
The weather continued fine all week and we had some lovely sailing and re visited some of our favourite haunts around the Ionian.   We went back to Port Leone and the deserted village and Kay and I were treated to a tour of the inside of the church by an old chap who looked like Ben Gunn and was helping the workman doing all the new tiling.   He had lots of stories to tell and we would have heard even more if we'd been able to accept his invite to eat some fish with him over a fire on the beach that evening!  (He used to be a fisherman on a big trawler till one day it blew up and he spent 20 hours in the sea waiting to be rescued)
We also went to Atheni Bay and the interesting and busy little port of Sivota. It was pretty hot all week so swimming was compulsory as was relaxing in the shade or the sun and catching up with the reading.  We had a look round Levkas town with some retail therapy - well we bought post cards.  And then it was back up the levkas canal waiting for the swing bridge and back to Cleopatra Marina.   This time we 'unwrapped' our car as Ron had gone home and it luckily started first time and carried Kay back to Preveza airport a little more relaxed and a shade browner!

Final blog for 2011 next.
