We are still anchored in this lovely bay, the boys spent the day on the white sand, I mean really white, playing and swiming. The wind is still at 15 to 20 knots which too you sailing mob does not sound much but here in the Sea of Cortez with the way the wind chop comes up, it is short and steep, as Paul T said square waves. You do not believe it until you see it and feel it, which we did on the way up and also going through the islands. One of the boats left this morning and within half hour they callled back on the VHF radio saying do not leave the harbor they were in 6 to 7 feet of steep short waves very uncomfortable and they were running with it. An hour later they were further out heading down the coast and came over saying it was now 10 feet and ugly, so it was a good call not to leave today.
I have spent the day in the "Giggle Marlin" doing a strategy white paper for Rashesh, and it was good to get it out of the way, especially in such a nice environment. The boys on the beach. As I have said before the "Giggle Marlin" is a patio resturant/ bar total open to the south over looking the bay. You sit in these cane seats on a lovely tile floor the temperatire is in the 70 s F and no breeze, and no windows as you look out over a bay with 10 boats, blue water and white sand beach with dunes risining behind. On the other side the mountains rise in their dry green and misty blue, and these extend off to the south. The pangas fish back and forth in front of  us catch bait and going for yellow tail, out of the seas around the point. Last night we had a group of jeeps with US people touring and camping on the beach. One of the nice things about staying in one place for a couple of days is that you meet the locals and all the poeple off the boats, we have all sat over coffee talking our stories and where we have been. The resturant and people know us, Tracy has donated some of Alex's cloths that he has out grown to one of ladies in the resturant who has just had a boy, we are giving them some toys that they have finished with.
We met two people in the bay who are heading north to La Paz, they stuck and they talked about their trip down the baja and they were a couple of weeks behind us, and they got hit with the big storms and had to anchor up in San Quaitine esturay for a week with 60 + knot winds and then big seas, they talks about how their whole trip has been dodging storms.
I feel lucky admitterly the last couple of weeks while great, we have been avoiding anchrages with winds.
So as I finsih up the forcast is for winds to drop but the sea is dropping down but it will take 24 hours so we may sit here another day we will see in the morning, I learning alot about models and forcasting, it is all like software just educated gambling.
But I am still in shorts and now with a beer as we watch the winter olumpics opening day, it looks cold there.
