Sean’s actual birthday, woke early and found Sean awake and we did a present unwrapping before I left with John to do “Check in”. It was nice this year to see Alex enjoy giving presents to Sean, and then they played well.

John, Bill and I went into do check in and found that the port captain was not into day and when we spoke to him on the phone we were told we had to move on NOW, and cannot come ashore, he said go to Golfito. Great no park visit and no provisioning and birthday dinner. So at 8.30 we lifted anchor and headed out, now too late with the currents against us to get to Bahia Drake some 60 nM away in day light, critical with the logs. So we adjusted plans and headed 26 nM down the coast to Domincal a small point with some rocks sticking out which might give us some protection. Our run was good we arrived 1.30 pm, but Wahalie ran over a palm tree and fund that they had to do a dive as it got wedged between the keel and prop, but they made it but last night in the middle of the night they had to re anchor as they found their chain rubbing on a rock as the tide went down, so not a good 24 hours for them.

The anchorage here is rolly, we left the boat and went to shore just to get Tracy and the boys off the boat and on land, this was good. The restaurant up the hill is closed their driveway blocked by a mud slide from last weeks rain.

Coming back to the boat I put out a stern anchor and flopper stopper to help stabilize the boat and it has improved, we will get some sleep, had cup cakes for Sean’s birthday and having an early night as we have 2 long sails the next 2 days to get into Golfito by end of week to check in.

Will do a blog from sea tomorrow
