8pm and we back in a wet El Salvador it has been raining here for 2 days due
to a tropical depression off the coast and heading north west. We left this
morning from Lima, stopped for a final Starbucks before we left. Arrived at
the airport in Lima to find challengers with documentation needed on
vaccinations, which forced the airline to not give us seats until we could
prove that we had been vaccinated against yellow fever, with less than 2
hours before take off this issued a challenge. We rushed around the airport
trying to work a way, eventually finding a way to get a certificate to
clear, and with less than an hour to go.
The flight went well, and it was nice to land and the temperature to be mid
to low 20s and nice climate, but as we drove along the road we could see the
large puddles, verging on lakes crossing the road. Apparently it has been
raining 2 days, and there are expected large seas due tomorrow.
Tomorrow for us is going out to the boat and seeing what state it is in, and
how much work we have, I suspect we will have a some clean up due to the
amount of rain they have had. We will move to boat back onto the docks which
have been rebuilt quite well so it is easy for the boys to get ashore and me
to get an internet connection so I can complete some whitepapers. But the
boys are so excited to be back, and Tracy is happy that we have no more
planes for a while
Stay tuned
