Circumnavigation of Ireland

After a less than restful night in Swanage Bay, where the yachts were rocking and rolling, I woke up to a damp, wet start to the day. But by 1030, when I left to catch the tide, the sun had appeared and the Force 3 NW breeze was encouraging.

This was an enjoyable last sail of the circumnavigation, with Gemini now back on her mooring outside the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Poole. Total distance covered since I left Poole on 10 June is 1,818.7 nms, of which I covered 450.5 nms to the start at Kilmore Quay, 956.7 nms to circumnavigate Ireland and 411.5 nms to return from Kilmore Quay to Poole via the Scillies. The total distance covered is 433 nms less than my circumnavigation of the UK in 2019.
