Actually, we have arrived in a lovely bay on the west side of the main bay that Sabang is located in on the bigger, but still small, Pulau Weh, the island off the northern end of Sumatra. We pulled into the bay and picked up a mooring by about 1pm, almost 48 hours after leaving Phuket. A lot of activity here being that it's a Sunday and a seemingly popular diving area.

Our 230 mile crossing from Phuket went well. Apart from running out of wind completely at about mid-night on the second night - the wind came back about 3 hours later, we had decent conditions. Although the wind never got much beyond 15, and for the most part was around 12 knots, the seas were flat and we could make a decent speed.

This place seems to be unlike most of the messy, run-down little towns we came across on Timor and Flores a couple if years back. Maybe, because of the tsunami, things got rebuilt in a more organized fashion.

Off to customs and immigration today - probably the same frustrating experience as Flores, timor etc.

All's well on galatea, except for our continued refrigerator problems!! Just when you think you have everything nailed down.
