Last night during watch we crossed the midway point between St Helena & Ascension, making about 350nm to go, and a noteworthy position to celebrate my very good mate, Iggs's  60th year since popping on the planet. Cheers to you Iggs.

Conditions are calming down as we narrow the gap to the equator, with the sea state dropping and the breeze at times frustrating.
Here is a little something to depict our journey to date :-

Three men left the Cape,
On a boat in rather fine shape,
They bound for the Med,
And know not what lays ahead,
Save to say, fresh bread from the bake.

With food like mush,
And old tins to crush,
Flying fish or squid on the boat do becon,
Not for them they recon,
Its to their beloveds meals they rush.

A white tropic bird of note,
Welcomes the boat,
As they glide through the water,
Getting close to the equator,
So its on boat speed they dote.

First stop St Helena,
For the pub they couldn't be keener,
Then where will it be,
To collect the Grub, and drop off the Tree,
Maybe the shop with the weener.

Ascension is next,
But its military, and so vexed,
As theres no jetty or cash,
Or any place to crash,
Says Tree, a little perplexed.
