Hi all,

We pulled out from the Isle St Marie anchorage on Tuesday evening, around 7pm. We decided to leave because it is 330 miles north to Cap Ambre, the northern tip of Madagascar. It is usually very windy there and the seas can be very rough (that is where my friends on Simanderal sunk last year). The weather reports suggest light conditions until Saturday morning and then big wind and seas are supposed to return. So we decided to move now, while the calmer conditions window hopefully stays open

We had another fun day yesterday, except for the 2 hours I wasted trying to get an internet sim card so i could send photos and also get updated weather information. I had to give up with that quest.
Anyway, we rented scooters and rode them to the northern point of St Marie. Very rural - just like the good old days - beautiful beaches and nice old light house.

We were so busy the past couple of days on the island, we forgot to have lunch. But that is ok - we had a lovely dinner at a restaurant on the beach Monday night and i made dinner on the boat while underway last night - tinned ham, baked beans, cheese and an egg. Quite tasty. Lucky ben and wally are not fussy!!

We hope to round the Cape on Friday, 100 meters off shore where it is supposedly less rough. We will then head down to Nosy Be on the wind protected northwest side of Madagascar.

Ok, that's it for now,

Neil, bernie and wally
