Enroute to Bremuda

28:40.0N 71:00.5W Monday morning 8am, exactly
halfway to Bermuda.
We ere very pleased to leave Nassau after a 5 day
stop there; another cruise ship destination, we found it to be very scruffy and
terribly expensive. With our old friend Steve Palastanga joining us for the
third time on this adventure, we were ready to tackle the 800 miles to Bermuda.
After carefully threading our way, yet again, out through the shallows, we were
able to relax when we reached the much deeper Atlantic waters. Unfortunately,
the winds were very light and we made slow progress, averaging only about 100
miles per day. But we were all relaxed, enjoyed the sunshine and managed to land
our largest dorado so far. Needless to say after 4 quiet days, nature
struck back with a vengeance with near gale-force winds right on the nose, which
are predicted to last for the next day or so. Hopes of an easy passage and early
arrival, faded when we found ourselves pointing at the Canaries and not at
Bermuda. Ah the joys of ocean sailing!
