Beautiful day motor sailing (yes we pulled the New genoa out and gave her a run). We then wove our way through shallow sand and reef to the pretty Southwester Cay, which is right on the edge of the outer reef. We anchored in a sandy patch in 4.5m of clear aqua water. Eagle rays and fish kept leaping out of the water and making loud splashes as they fell back in. Spent an hour with the adventure dogs on the sand spit to the south side of the island watching them bouncing through the water, chasing after sticks and digging for crabs. It’s nice to be at anchor again with the cool breeze blowing in through the hatches. The night sky was incredibly clear and the Southern Cross reminded us of home. This was a lovely place to spend our first night on our way north.
