'Jodi M' left us the next day (Monday 16/03/15) and headed north. We decided we would head south and see if we could catch up with Marla and Eli 'Iguana Dance' so headed SSE toward Hatchet Cay or Little Water Cay. This is where the Whale Sharks come each spring, so it was hoped that we might luck onto another item on our bucket list "swim with a whale shark".

It was a lovely day and we were heading at the right angle to raise the sails. It was a wonderful feeling with maybe 1 foot waves and a gentle 12kt wind. There were 2 boats anchored off Hatchet Cay so we head for Little Water Cay.
So good to have the sails up again and the conditions were perfect

We tried the Nth side first but it was reasonably deep and coral with very little sand. After attempting once and bringing up a lump of coral we decided to try the Sth side. The holding was not good consisting of a thin layer of sand and grass  over rocky stuff. John snorkelled out and found a cement block that had probably been used as a mooring at some time. We manouvoured the boat dragging the anchor to a spot just in front of the cement block (the anchor was holding ok by this stage). John then tied the chain at the front of the anchor to the cement block as a bit of extra holding if the winds came up. They were gentle all night.

Safely anchored off Little Water Cay

And a wonderful sunset to sit and watch during happy hour sundowners.
