Friday Julie and Donald arrived on board at 2 pm and we set off at 2.30 making our way along the Canal as far as Fort Augusus where we stayed the night.
Saturday. continued along the Canal getting to the top of Neptune's staircase in heavy rain. where understandably the lock keeper took an early bath!.
Sunday. Set off down the staircase at 8am in 30 knot winds and rain like Anglesey stair rods went down 8 locks,a road bridge, a rail bridge and two more locks arriving in Corpach Basin by 10am.Donald dashed off to catch a bus home intending to be there in time for a BBQ !! We have spent the day in Corpach basin with the winds up to 40 knots and relentless rain. the forcast is marginally better for Monday. we will believe it when we see it.
