We got away from Tresco on Saturday 19th and sailed directly to
Holyhead.Barimetric Pressure 992,wind 25knots SE(following)and the
resultant rough seas! An exciting overnight trip of 200n miles arriving in
Holyhead on Sunday afternoon.there were 3 Lifeboat shouts in progress as
we battled our way around South and North Stack Lighthouses!
Thinking that the weather would remain bad for the next two weeks we
rented a car and drove home to Cheshire dropping Julie in Manchester to
get a train to Thirsk. (Thanks Julie for your help during our trip from
Lymington to Holyhead. You are now officially part of Festina's A Team)
Having spotted a weather window for Thursday 24th I drove back to the boat
on Wednesday picking Mike Hanson up on the way.
We had an uneventful crossing to Liverpool on Thursday and packed Festina
up in the evening. My sister met us in Liverpool and took us home.
Well that's it until April. Hope you enjoyed my boring blog and maybe see
you next year.
Anyone interested in sailing with me next year to Canada via
Iceland/Greenland just call me.
