Having again found a pontoon In the marina where we felt it was safe to leave the dinghy whilst on our little train trip we then had a 10 minute walk to the station. It was only one stop on the train the other side of the hill so mostly in tunnel.

When we got there we were surprised by the size of the place with very tall buildings all around but again in all the different shades of terracotta with colourful shutters and all the washing hanging out - it was Monday

We walked about 10 minutes to find the harbour which was a little gem.

Mr F was still convinced we could have tied up against this harbour wall!!

We had a wander around through small alleyways up to the castle. Stopped for a coffee at one of the many cafes but it was so quiet and so few tourists.

We then wandered along the promenade past the grey pebbly beach which had a few people on it and then climbed back up towards the station found a supermarket and bought something for supper and caught the train back.

Once back on the boat we decided we’d go back to the original anchorage near Portofino as water so much clearer for a much needed swim and our last night before moving on westwards across the bay of Genoa
