The scenery as we sail up this coast is quite stunning hilly and wooded with high mountains inland , the odd bay with sandy beaches but very little habitation

After a morning of motoring we stopped for lunch In a wide bay called Baie de Iscia. No other yachts there little bit of habitation behind and to one end. Beautiful clear water though quite a lot of jelly fish as we motored in but they disappeared once in shallower water. We dropped anchor at the end of the boat channel onto the beach and then David and I took the dinghy in up the channel as we fancied a beach walk before lunch. A bit of a swell so not an easy landing. Having pulled the boat onto the beach we then had a Frenchman talking quite rapidly and after saying ‘plus lentement we gathered this was the channel for them taking the speedboat out with parascending. We had seen what we thought was a paraglider landing on the beach earlier. So basically our yacht was parked in the way!! so we said just going for a walk along the beach and then back to the boat and we will be gone in 2 hours - he seemed happy with that. So the walk we had though it wasn’t very nice sand to walk on in bare feet and back for lunch . Just as we were finishing lunch and getting ready to move the speed boat came down the channel heading for us with a parascender above it but he did swerve round to the right and across the bay!!

So we set off out and had a great sail up the coast and as we were sailing well we went further than intended to Cape Rosso . An amazing red granite headland . Pictures I don’t think do it justice . We were heading for an anchorage in Golfe de Girolata. Again we rounded another red headland and anchored in Cala Di Tuara.

Sandy beach at the head but steep wooded hills all around us. Again quite wild.and apart from a nearly full morning not a single light ashore.
