This morning we set the alarm for 6 but in fact were awake before then so after several cups of tea it really was first light when we set off. I'm not a morning person but the sky was quite magical.

Flat calm again and no wind forecast till the afternoon. We motored for a short while and then we did get some wind and an hours sail. Great to have a break from the engine. No other yachts around but plenty of shipping

Wind got up again as forecast and a great sail to within a couple of miles of Malta. Half way across we saw couple of dolphins jump out but they didn't join us.

As we got nearer to Malta then quite few yachts out including Leopard and Hugo Boss - the big boys practicing for the Rolex Middlesea Race

So quite an entry into Malta. We are not in the main harbour but finally found our way to a berth that had been reserved for us. From the charts at the start you can see it's pretty busy. Lots of yachts in here flying Rolex pennants - a hive of activity.

Glimpses of the old city Valletta but we were having to concentrate to avoid tourist pleasure craft, yachts some as equally lost as us and find where we were going.

Tomorrow hopefully we can explore Valletta and get a feel for what is going on here. In the meanwhile off to find dinner
