Overnight Friday we were at anchor just off Petit St Vincent - we all had walks along the beach on this private island and quite a few swims in beautiful clear turquoise water. David and I had a couple of drinks at The Bar - pretty expensive. ( although a private island with very very expensive accommodation they do seem to welcome yachtsman into the bay - no charge presumably in the hope you will spend money there.) It was squally overnight - we kept waking up to rain coming through the hatch but you soon dry out. The weather was still the same yesterday Saturday and it was also Alex and Dan's 6th wedding anniversary. We tried to visit the little sandy island of Mopion but the sea was a bit rough and it didn't look inviting either so we motored across to here ( this island is part of Grenada not St Vincent so in theory we should have checked out and then in to here but people don't seem bothered) where we had been told could get water and fuel, also a supermarket and a beach cafe ( first picture below) which Alex and Dan fancied for dinner. The latter also had a mooring buoy which we are on. So after getting water at the jetty we then radioed the cafe to ask to use their buoy and book dinner for A and D. David and I had lunch there and after lunch we then all went ashore had a good walk along the beach the locals were all very friendly and keen to talk. We managed to walk to the top of a hill and sat a while - pretty good views across the islands. We fancied an ice cream but after several attempts discovered no ice cream on the island as the refrigerated boat had been broken for a while. So we bought drinks in one of the supermarkets and various other bits and pieces including wine as duty free and headed back to the boat.

Alex and Dan had a good evening ashore and the children went to bed quite happily for us and today we are heading to Union Island for a few nights. Weather is forecast to be squally for a few days so we think there are a few walks we can do there plus the fact David and Dan need to checkout a few things on the water maker to decide what parts are needed! Either we can get these in St Lucia or we shall have to ask Dan's parents to bring out to Guadeloupe at the beginning of March.
