Left Vuda Point marina at last! We didn’t venture very far but made it to Port Denarau just across the bay. Unfortunately our propeller didn’t perform. Wrong pitch. We only achieved 3.2 knots at 1500 revs. So we have to come out of the water again, hopefully on Monday, take the propeller off, dismantle it and change the pitch. And hope that this time we’ll get it right.
We had an excellent evening last night with Rory, Kate and little Hannah from S/Y Streetcar celebrating Kate’s birthday. We started the evening sipping champagne on their boat and then went to Flavio’s where Kate organised dinner. He is an Italian guy whose main business is the import of cheeses, saucisson, ham, olive oils etc from Europe. He supplies most of the the mega yachts. But in the evening he sometimes cook for private parties. The table was beautifully set up in the garden and we feasted all night on delicious foods, tasty wines, finishing with the obligatory glass of grappa!
Beautiful day today. Sitting in the cockpit writing this blog, boat securely attached to a mooring ball in front of the marina. Not bad at all!
