Fai Tira in St Marys Scilly Islands 49:55:31N 6:18.93W

Today saw us heading away from Falmouth enroute to the Scilly Islands.  We had an early start 6.30 and headed for the Lisard.  The weather deteriorated and it started raining and the mist came down.  We could only just see the Lasard light house as we past.  We then hit some overfalls and the waves grew and grew for a while until we got past them.  But this was not until Pete had taken a load of water down his back!!!  Booo

We the changed course to head west.  This as a good move because the wind had picked up from the south and the sun came out.  After a couple of hours we were joined by Dolphins which made it even better.  We were cruising along  at 7 knots with Denise the wind vane steering doing a better job than either of us at steering a straight course.

We arrived and dropped anchor at St Mary’s at 6.30 just 12 hours after we had set off.  A well deserved beer and a hearty meal cooked by John has rounded off a great day.  We watch the lifeboat set off into the sunset on a rescue mission seems somebody was in trouble.

Night Night.

Bye for now.

Pete and John.
