Title: Galapagos to Marquesas 10 to 11th March 2015

Nothing too exciting to report today. We had some fun with Japanes fishing boats, we guess they are long lining for Tuna, so we try to go ahaed or a long way behind, ie 4 miles, in case they are traiing floating fishing lines. At one point I saw an AIS target mkoving towards us at 88 knots, wow thats an impressively fast bat, then read the description HC-204, and guessed it was a helicopter from a fishing boat. Impressive that a fishing boat has a helicopter though, and confirmed by our friends on Juno since it buzzed them.
Other than this it has been great sailing weather, 16 to 20 knots of wind from a great direction, ie abaft the beam meaing we have a beam reach, our fastest point of sail. so we are averaging 8 knots towards Hiva Oa, it would be more if the tide was with us.
People often ask what  do you do all day at sea. Its difficult to find the answer, but things like preparing a meal take several times longer than on land, say 15 mins at home, 1.5 hours on a constantly moving small galley area, maybe this should be a master chef challenge. Just think in a few weeks we will be visiting Niue, where the chef Monica from MAsterchef is from!
Thats all today folks, John
