Yesterday was a lovely with lots of sunshine and we celebrated that we are over half way with some bubbly.  I sent the picture up yesterday afternoon.
Last night we did not get much sleep as the wind gusted up to 45 kts and it was raining.  Tom was at the helm when all this happened and it was all hands to deck to take all the sails down and we were just running on bare poles..
Today it is pouring with rain and gusting up to 33 Kts.  A lot of the fleet are suffering from the same weather conditions.  We are still quite comfortable and I am now getting plenty of practise in steering to compass course.
We are heavily reefed, we prefer to get to St Lucia a bit lot later but safely.  This is not exactly what we expected from the tropics, but we are taking all this in our stride and actually quite enjoying it.
A cup of hot chocolate goes down well..
