We depart at 10:00, motor sailing into a F4 Southerly and a small swell.  Around 17:00 dark clouds start building over the mountains and the wind swings west and strengthens.  We abandon our plan to anchor off Ampolla and instead head into the harbour (40:48.55N, 000:42.66E).  The Club Nautico staff is very helpful and we attempt a stern-to on the east mole but every time I get lined up the bow blows off in spite of the bow thruster.  I give up and we go bows-to the concrete quay with a large blow-up fender tucked under the pulpit.  As we finalise our mooring we hear the crash of thunder and see the flashes of lightning a few miles to the south of us, but fortunately we are spared.

We eat aboard then take a walk into the town where some sort of fashion show is going on, we watch for a while then go for a coffee and brandy at the Club Nautico clubhouse. Ampolla is a pretty place and seems vibrant and lively.
