English breakfast at the Marina Cafe - what luxury! Then a taxi into Malaga to do the tourist bit, cathedral, shops etc. We sprinted up to the local casino on our return to watch a Flamenco show which was very entertaining.

We passed Torremolinos on the way to Malaga. Leading Seaman Phil reliably informed me, by text, that he spent the best days of his youth promenading along the front at Torre in 1975. I remember vaguely a misspent holiday with my mate Pat in 1970. Tie-dye tees, flares, platforms and loads of slap (and that was just the waiters).

Bought a flamenco dress in Malaga! One never knows when formal flamenco wear will be required in Abinger.

Skipper spends most of the day upside down in the engine, cleaning out the cooling system and changing oil, filters, anodes etc. The washing machine is going full pelt and the RA is running errands. It's actually not bad below with the fans on - outside the sun beats down mercilessly at about 40 deg. C. Inside it's only 32.

Rear Admiral is a shadow of former self. Merciless heat and humidity, however melting in Benalmedina is so much nicer than freezing one's butt off in the UK or the Channel or Biscay.

My father loved the Costa del Sol. He was the first man to book a package holiday back in 1962, as he saw good value in this new marketing concept. He had a special holiday hat with lemons hanging from the brim. When he was angry the lemons quivered! I think I must have been a difficult child as the lemons quivered frequently in those days.
