Again, conditions started out ok for an hour or so, but we had continual rolling and very little sunshine for the whole 292nm. Made for uncomfortable conditions trying get any sleep at all, although we were averaging 8knots resulting in us arriving in Gran Canaria earlier than expected and had to drop anchor outside the marina and wait for the ARC to depart! Called to ask marina office for a birth and were told to come ashore to the office on our dingy, so despite James being absolutely knackered he got the stowed dingy out of the boot and inflated it in the cockpit and we set off meandering through the departing yachts to the office, only to write down the name of our boat and be told he would radio us after 15.00 to tell us when we could get in, what a waste of effort! Really fab atmosphere, we were eventually let into the marina, along with around 200 other waiting yachts approx 18.30. We were then told by the helpful marina hand that we had to go to marina office to get our security pass to get in and out off our pontoon, again James sprang into action, unfolded his Brompton, satchel on his back and cycled like a man possessed the 2 km around to the opposite side of the marina! Whilst I opened a chilled bottle of vino and had a glass waiting for him on his sweaty return! Lol
