We arrived at Savusavu at 9.30 pm yesterday, just 2.5 days for 406 miles. We anchored near the Cousteau resort just down from Savusavu the motored up to the Copra Shed moorings this morning to check in to Fiji. It was all very straight forward and was completed before lunch time.

The sail from Tonga was fantastic, particularly the last day when we had 20 - 30+ knots from behind and were surfing along with our twin headsails poled out. We surfed at up to 12.5 knots and were frequently doing over 8 knots on Monday. As I told Susan, Monday was the most fun I had had sailing in quite a long time. She wouldn't wholly agree with me!!

We just have to wait a couple of days for our cruising permit and will then look for a weather window to sail to the remote and beautiful Lau group of islands.

Cheers, D&S
