Almost exactly 300nm over the past 48hrs. Really good sailing in sunshine on Sunday, but the wind dropped yesterday and we had to start motorsailing about 4.0am and we are still in 5-10 knots of wind. These light winds are forecast to last for another 2 days, so we will just have to hope for at least some spells of sufficient wind to sail at a reasonable speed. We currently have 1620nm to go and have enough diesel for 1200nm, so we have plenty diesel.

We are now 2 1/2 weeks into our no alcohol month at sea and it makes us think of our friends Peter & Margie on Peregrina. Every year Peter starts a 3 month spell with absolutely no alcohol on 1st January. Margie supports Peter by consuming no alcohol for 4 days each week. They now have just 2 days to go and we are sad that we are not with them to celebrate yet another amazing achievement. Our no alcohol spell is completely different as we are not socialising and having ‘friends’ consume sparkling wine etc to celebrate some random event, full moon, Saturday etc etc. Congratulations Peter & Margie!!!

Cheers,
