We moved anchorage around Poros on Friday 29th having decided to stay another night due to high winds forecast. We anchored in a small bay and in the afternoon we were joined by another Scottish boat with 3 ladies on board, Chris, Caroline & Elaine. We invited them on board for cocktails and had a very enjoyable evening.

On Saturday we decided to move on despite a slightly dodgy forecast. Once we were out of the bay we were bashing into the waves and wind and almost turned back to Poros, however we managed to proceed in a direction which wasn’t too uncomfortable. After about an hour we turned round a headland and within a few minutes we had only 2-6 knots of wind and almost flat calm seas. It stayed very calm all the way to Koros. We weren’t greatly impressed with Koros, but we had a quiet night on the town pontoon.

On Sunday 31st we motored up to the Corinth canal entrance and decided to carry on through as it was fairly early. It cost 204€ to travel just the 3.5 miles but it is fairly impressive and on the route we wanted to take.

The multitude of bridges crossing the canal.

The middle bridge has a bungee jumping station!

We stayed Sunday night at an anchorage (Domvrainos Kolpas) and then motored in very light winds to Galixidhi on Monday. We plan to stay here for 3 nights and chill out. It seems a fairly pretty village and is a safe harbour to leave the boat for the day visit to Delphi. We have just had a real downpour and some thunder and lightning so the Delphi visit will be on Wednesday.
