We arrived in Naxos on Wednesday and managed to get our repairs underway very quickly and they were complete by Friday afternoon. Mikos who is in charge of the Yacht Harbour was extremely helpful and arranged for guys from one of the chandleries to come to us. They were very efficient and repaired both the cleat, which had been damaged in the Meltemi in Icaria and the furling fairlead at the top of the mast.

Mast climbing Greek style! No rope hauling him up, he just climbed the mast steps and had a belt to hold him when he was up there.

Peter and Alison cleaning the fenders which were black due to rubbing on a tyre on the harbour wall.

We really enjoyed Naxos town and had a couple of really nice meals out.

On Saturday we went to Paros, a neighbouring island and anchored in a bay just opposite the town of Paroikia.

Alison & Peter gave us a nice Bon Voyage card when they left with a very apt quote.

‘The World is a book and those who do not travel read only a page’

We feel we are back to turning the pages!
