Title: Trip to San Blas

13.02.78N 71.36.14W

We left Bonaire at 07.45 am yesterday (Monday) and after 30 minutes motoring out of the anchorage we set up the twin headsails and have been sailing ever since. We did 175 miles in the first 24 hours, which is over 7 knots and is very good for Enchantress. The sailing was boisterous but not at all dangerous. We had between 20 – 30 knots of win throughout the day and night and whilst we had some clouds and the treat of rain it stayed nice and we had a pretty good show of stars.

We are now passing the most northern part of Columbia and moving in to the Columbian basin. The seas have picked up a bit and we still have 20-30 knots of wind, but this should reduce as we head away from land and into deeper water. We are both in good spirit and have just had a brief dolphin show.

It’s looking like a fast and good passage, so fingers crossed that the forecast is accurate.

Cheers,

D & S
