We received an alarming text from Norm today assuming we knew about Tropical Storm Bertha.  There was no sign of it on our Grib forecasts but then we were not looking that far west for our wind predictions and were grateful for the warning. Thanks Norm. (We're hiding our heads under the pillow and hoping it will go away!!!)

We have since sought help and advice from Tony Head who has kindly sent us the latest predicted course and strength of the storm. Tony's information suggests the storm will be much depleated and cross our course on Monday some 350 miles ahead. We've been becalmed all afternoon so unable the take any effective action, With a good breeze, however, we would reasonably expect to cover that 350 miles by Monday, but who knows what the wind gods will bring?  So we will continue on our way as direct as the wind allows towards Pwllheli and await further forecasts before taking any specific avoiding action; if necessary?

Our current grib forecasts only go 72 hours ahead; we are reviewing this.

Thank you very much Norm for the warning and thank you very much Tony for the storm track information from the appreciative crew of Ella Trout,
